Message Some of you know I work for an Aerospace company as a machinist out here in the DFW area. I talked to a buddy of mine in the heat treat dept this evening and discussed with him the situation we are facing with the crankshafts snapping. I mentioned our harmonic issues as well as the common line of using the UD pulley and that it could be a problem for what is going on. When we started diving deeper into the conversation on the crankshaft I asked him about giving me a composition make up of the crankshaft itself if I brought him a sample. He agreed and said that it would take a week or so to get done however that he could tell me the exact make up of carbon in the crankshaft and give me alternatives if any that could help in strengthening the crank itself. The secondary test that I'll have done is a tensile strength test. Then and only then will we really know the real potential of the crankshafts we use in our builds. If things come up unfavorable I will turn to the drawing board and have a new crankshaft developed that will focus on these issues as well as remodify the oil system to where it will keep our rod bearings alive and maintain its longevity on peak performance under high load conditions.

I'll report back as soon as I have some information. Just thought I'd let you all know.
